Man fined for illegally selling gas

A man has been fined for selling gasoline from his home without a business license.

Police went to Hughdon Bowe Jr.’s home in Golden Gates on Sunday evening after they saw a car speed away from the residence.

The officers carried out a warrantless search as they suspected that drugs and guns were inside.

During the search, they found two 55-gallon drums of gasoline inside the home, which Bowe said he had to sell.

Bowe pleaded guilty to operating a business without a license at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

He was fined $1,500 or three months in prison. The court ordered the gasoline confiscated.

Kenvaughn Rolle, who was also inside Bowe’s home, pleaded guilty to two counts of deceit of a public officer.

He lied to two officers on separate occasions by telling them his name was Kevin Bullard.

Police learned his true identity when he was asked for identification.

Rolle was fined $750 or three months in prison.

Keith Seymour represented both men.
