A man accused of stealing eight gold teeth during an armed robbery was remanded to prison.
Devardo Gardiner faced charges of armed robbery and possession of a firearm while committing an indictable offence when he appeared before a magistrate on Friday.
Prosecutors allege that Gardiner, 27, robbed Adrian Knowles of $600 cash and an envelope that contained the teeth, worth $850, on January 17.
They allege that Gardiner carried out the crime while armed with a .40 caliber pistol.
Gardiner, who was represented by Bjorn Ferguson, did not enter pleas to any of the charges because they can only be tried in the Supreme Court.
Prosecutors intend to fast-track the case to the Supreme Court on March 30 with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment. Gardiner was denied bail. However, he can apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
