A mentally ill man accused of killing his 15-year-old daughter remains in custody at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre awaiting trial.
Richard Gibson, 56, was charged with murder in the October 22, 2011 stabbing death of his daughter, Richa, at their home in Sunshine Park.
Gibson was deemed unfit to enter a plea to the charge in 2012.
He appeared before Justice Gregory Hilton on Friday after his lawyer Sonia Timothy filed a constitutional motion seeking to stay proceedings against him. However, the judge adjourned the matter sine die on the basis that Gibson is not formally before the Supreme Court.
In the interim, the court has ordered a new psychiatric report for Gibson.
Timothy Bailey appeared for the DPP.
