Making a place beautiful

Some people look for a beautiful place, others make a beautiful place – Darel Clayton is among the latter, she definitely envisions and makes a beautiful space in her own home. Clayton’s HOME is a guide to living your best life creatively and authentically. She aims to inspire, motivate and curate a modern lifestyle which she says is achievable by everyone. Her mantra is it’s your home, make it livable, luxurious, and yours.

It’s Clayton’s HOME brand that has come together with her partners for TheBlueStoneHome and collaborated for a showcase of their spring home décor collection with their first pop-up shop at Veridian at Astoria.

The pop-up Clayton said will offer home décor accessories for anyone that has a house, condo or cottage.

“I believe your home should tell your story, and with the personalization of your favorite things. Wherever you call home, we are here to help you personalize your space,” said Clayton.

She said it’s good to “change things up.”

“The pandemic has shifted the way we shop, and Bahamians are comfortable with purchasing a variety of products like home décor and accessories online. We want to provide other options and create a new experience when decorating your home.”

HOME is the design inspirator/inspiration and TheBlueStoneHome provides the products/décor accessories to help make the ideas come to life.

It took Clayton and her partners a mere three weeks from idea to conception for this weekend’s pop-up.

“My partners and I decided to experiment with it, because everyone always asks when I am opening a store, and so it has literally popped up.”

Clayton said more pop-ups are definitely in the works with different themes and venues as HOME and the BluestoneHome has partnered to be your destination of choice when it comes to home accessories and décor services – staging, redesign, space planning, interior decorating and furniture accessories.

As for where she draws inspiration, Clayton said it comes from the many homes that have been special to her in her life – her grandmother’s home, family homes where she grew up and her home she shares with her family.

The BlueStoneHome Spring Home Décor Collection Pop Shop at Veridian at Astoria takes place on Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After passing the Fresh Market west, continue westwards towards the Lyford Cay roundabout, Veridian will be the brown office building on the left.
