A man was yesterday sentenced to 25 years for the murders of two brothers in 2019.
Seron McQueen, 44, pleaded guilty to both crimes when he appeared before Justice Gregory Hilton as part of a plea deal.
McQueen, also known as “Man of the Land”, killed 19-year-old Terrance Rolle Jr. on Baillou Hill Road as he walked home after attending the New Year’s Day Junkanoo Parade. Rolle was shot in the head near C.R. Walker High School.
Four months later, McQueen fatally shot Rolle’s older brother, Barron Roberts, at Hospital Lane.
Roberts was sitting on a wall with a group of men when McQueen walked up to him and shot him five times. He died on the scene.
As part of the plea agreement, McQueen has been credited the six months that he spent in custody before he pleaded guilty to a firearm and ammunition charge for which he was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment in November 2019. Sonia Timothy represented McQueen.
Cordell Frazier and Timothy Bailey appeared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
