The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) is congratulating Elana Mackey on receiving a scholarship to attend Mars Hill University, a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II school in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Mars Hill is in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
Bahamian junior athlete Mackey has the distinguished privilege of being named to both the university’s women’s tennis team and the track team for the Mars Hill Lions.
Mackey represented The Bahamas internationally on many teams including the prestigious Fed Cup (now Billy Jean King Cup) team. She previously attended the University of The Bahamas (UB) and was on the UB Mingoes track team.
Mackey is expected to be very active, representing her school in two sporting disciplines while simultaneously pursuing a college education.
The Mars Hill Lions tennis team will hit the court soon, taking on Anderson College.
The BLTA wishes Mackey and the Lions all the best this season.
