Father and son arrested during curfew

A man denied defying the national curfew after a video of police arresting him and his father went viral.

Police arrested 19-year-old Asheen Rahming on April 27 after they claimed he violated a stay-at-home order intended to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Rahming was reportedly outside securing the Kemp Road home he shares with his parents when police arrested him after 10 p.m.

The officers arrested his 41-year-old father, Rocklyn Rahming, when he tried to intervene.

They both appeared before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

The teen denied charges of violation of curfew, disorderly behavior and obscene language.

His father pleaded not guilty to obstruction.

They remain on police bail and will be tried on July 20.

Attorney Donna Major represents the Rahmings.
