Two New Providence residents are the latest victims of COVID-19, health officials reported early this morning.
An 80-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman died on Saturday, according to a Ministry of Health statement.
This pushed the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 58.
An additional death is also under investigation.
The Bahamas recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday – 39 on New Providence and one at a location that is still pending.
The total number of cases up to Sunday stood at 2,526.
There are 75 hospitalized cases, 976 recovered cases and 1,489 active cases.
Overall, there have been 1,629 confirmed cases on New Providence; 584 on Grand Bahama; 85 on Abaco; 54 on Bimini; 23 on Exuma; 15 on the Berry Islands; 13 on Inagua; eight on Cat Island; eight on Eleuthera; eight on Long Island; seven on Acklins; three on Andros; two on Crooked Island; two on Mayaguana; and 105 at locations that are still pending.
