Health officials reported 49 additional cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas yesterday and two additional deaths.
The total number of cases in The Bahamas now sit at 3,467 with 77 deaths.
Health officials said 41 cases are on New Providence, five on Abaco and three on Eleuthera.
There are now 2,422 cases on New Providence; 617 on Grand Bahama; 115 on Abaco; 54 on Bimini; 15 on the Berry Islands; eight on Cat Island; 27 in Exuma; 18 on Inagua; 22 on Eleuthera; seven on Acklins; five on Andros; five on Crooked Island; 12 on Long Island; and three on Mayaguana. The locations of 137 cases are listed as pending.
Officials said a 59-year-old year man from New Providence died on September 21. They also said that a death that was previously under investigation was now confirmed as a COVID-19 death. That person was a 59-year-old man from Providence who died on September 15.
An additional death that was under investigation was confirmed as a non-COVID death. The number of deaths under investigation was reduced to 20.
There are now 1,871 recovered cases; 1,489 active cases; and 89 hospitalized cases.
There were 17,341 tests completed up to yesterday.
