Three new COVID-19 deaths on GB

Health officials reported last night that three people from Grand Bahama are the latest victims of COVID-19. 

This pushed the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 50. 

Officials said a 66-year-old woman, 62-year-old man and an 81-year-old man, all of Grand Bahama, died. 

The 66-year-old died on August 21 and the other two died on August 25. 

An additional death is also under investigation. 

The Bahamas recorded 49 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, health officials noted.

Officials reported 28 cases were on New Providence, 13 were on Grand Bahama and eight were recorded on Abaco.

The total number of cases up to Thursday stood at 2,386.

The number of hospitalizations rose from 67 to 77. Recovered cases rose to 893 and the number of active cases increased to 1,423.

There were 12,117 tests completed.

Overall, there were 1,504 cases of COVID-19 on New Providence; 570 on Grand Bahama; 79 on Abaco; 54 on Bimini; 15 on the Berry Islands; eight on Cat Island; 20 on Exuma; 11 on Inagua; seven on Eleuthera; seven on Acklins; two on Andros; two on Crooked Island; three on Long Island; two on Mayaguana; and the locations of 102 cases are listed as pending.
