Three more COVID deaths and 79 new cases were recorded between Sunday and Monday, according to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard.
According to the Ministry of Health, an 81-year-old New Providence man who died on August 14 was confirmed yesterday to have died of COVID. A 68-year-old New Providence woman and an 80-year-old New Providence man died of COVID-19 on Saturday.
The deaths bring the toll to 59, with 15 under investigation. Seven patients who had COVID-19 have died of other causes.
Of the new confirmed cases, 77 were on New Providence, one on Abaco, and the other’s location has not yet been confirmed.
Forty cases were confirmed on Sunday and 39 yesterday.
The new cases bring the total number of confirmed cases in The Bahamas to 2,585. Of them, 1,667 have been recorded on New Providence and 584 on Grand Bahama.
There are 86 confirmed cases on Abaco; 54 confirmed cases on Bimini; 23 confirmed cases on Exuma; 15 in the Berry Islands; 13 on Inagua; eight on Cat Island; eight on Eleuthera; eight on Long Island; seven on Acklins; three on Andros; two on Crooked Island and two on Mayaguana.
As of yesterday, there were 105 confirmed cases with locations pending.
There were 1,496 active cases, with 1,008 people having recovered.
Sixty-four people were hospitalized with COVID as of yesterday and 13,010 tests had been completed.
