The Ministry of Health reported 120 new COVID-19 cases for Friday and Saturday combined.
Thirty cases were reported on Saturday; 23 of which were reported on New Providence, three on Long Island, three on Exuma and one on Andros.
Ninety cases were reported the day before.
On Friday, 63 people were reported positive for the virus on New Providence, 14 on Grand Bahama, six on Abaco, two on Inagua, two on Long Island and one on Eleuthera.
The locations for two cases were pending on Friday.
As of Saturday, 2,506 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in The Bahamas.
Fifty-six people reportedly died from the virus as of Saturday. The most recent death was a 53-year-old woman who lived on New Providence. She died on September 4, according to the ministry. Health officials reported five deaths on Friday. They said a 58-year-old woman, who lived on Long Island, died on August 28.
The remaining deaths were reported on New Providence.
A 71-year-old woman died on August 14.
A 54-year-old woman died on August 20.
A 20-year-old woman died on August 26.
A 67-year-old man died on August 30.
Health officials reported 71 additional recoveries between Friday and Saturday.
Nine hundred and sixty-four people have recovered from COVID-19 as of Saturday.
