There are two confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Cat Island, Island Administrator Neil Campbell said on Tuesday.
Campbell said patients live in the same household.
The couple exhibited symptoms while on island and were transported to New Providence for testing, Campbell said.
Officials from the Ministry of Health are conducting contract tracing.
Additionally, officials are sanitizing the airport today as the patients passed through the building.
The Guardian understands that the patients – two women – are in their 50s and 70s.
An official from the Ministry of Health also confirmed the Cat Island cases.
