A man has been fined for throwing a party over the weekend.
Police arrested Lamar Walters after he held a birthday bash at the Marley Resort and Spa on July 12.
Officers shut the party down after finding 200 people at his 26th birthday party. None of the partygoers were wearing masks or practicing social distancing, the court heard.
Walters pleaded guilty to holding a function where social distancing protocols weren’t followed, when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
Walters claimed he had only invited 20 people but he didn’t know most of the guests.
Walters paid a $1,000 fine to avoid a six-month prison sentence.
