Police on Friday charged a 45-year-old man with the murder of Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) campaign worker Kendrick Cambridge.
Prosecutors allege that Kyle Dean fatally stabbed Cambridge following an argument at Zane Lightbourne’s constituency office in Elizabeth Estates on September 14.
Police arrested Dean shortly after the incident.
Dean was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he made his initial court appearance before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
He was remanded to prison as the magistrate lacks the jurisdiction to consider bail for the charge. However, Dean can apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
Dean’s next court date is December 14.
Additionally, police have charged a suspect in a double shooting that took place in June.
Kenton Knowles, 23, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney accused of the attempted murders of Rodman Knowles and Shamal Bullard.
Both men were shot at Dorsett Street, Fox Hill, on June 11.
Knowles did not have to enter a plea and was denied bail.
He will return to court on December 10.
