53 new cases

The Bahamas recorded 53 additional cases of COVID-19 yesterday and one new death, according to the Ministry of Health.

A 58-year-old New Providence man died on Monday.

This brings the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 150. Twenty-four deaths remain under investigation and 29 are listed as non-COVID-19 deaths.

Of the new cases, there are 34 on New Providence, nine on Grand Bahama, two on Abaco, two on Bimini and Cat Cay, three on Eleuthera and three on Exuma.

Just over 400 tests were completed on Tuesday – 326 were negative and 28 were repeat tests.

The Ministry of Health said 69 people recovered from the virus yesterday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 4,701.

There are 1,939 active cases, the ministry said.
