Our News unveils fresh new look on nightly news

Our News is once again raising the bar for local news in The Bahamas, revealing dynamic graphics, reimagined theme music, compelling new segments and more of the $1.5 million studio than ever before on Our TV.

The new look and feel introduced on November 16, 2020 promises to give viewers more of the stories they want, in a fresh, engaging format like never before.

Veteran journalist and Executive Producer of Our News and Current Affairs Jerome Sawyer said the shift represents a change in the way Bahamians consume media.

“Our News is once again setting the trend for local news in the country. Our viewers are hungry for more and Our News has stepped up to the plate with the best news reporters and fresh, accurate news coverage our viewers can count on,” according to Sawyer.

A familiar face returns to the anchor desk as Kristina Dragovich rejoins the Our News family and the best news team in The Bahamas.

News Director Vaughnique Toote is driving captivating news stories and segments to tell more of the stories viewers desire, with the strongest team of journalists and news anchors in the industry.

Seasoned sportscaster Marcellus Hall keeps our audience up to date on the latest scores and games in the world of sports.

Our Weather tracks trends affecting The Bahamas and the region, with satellite imagery and veteran meteorologist Greg Thompson. Thompson joined Our News in September, bringing his expertise and knowledge of climate change to homes across The Bahamas.

David Burrows, vice president of media, said nightly viewership confirms Our News’ position as the country’s news leader, with more people tuning into Our News at 7:30 p.m. than tune to any program on the REV TV lineup.

“Our News consistently draws 25,000 to 35,000 viewers nightly from across The Bahamas who demand a high-quality news product. Our News goes beyond borders, with the highest ranked following and engagement for a news organization in the country, inclusive of TV and social media,” Burrows said.

Our News is giving viewers what they want, when they want it, live streaming on Facebook, making Our News the leader in online news engagement in the country, with more than 70,000 likes and growing.

Our TV has evolved into the only 24-hour, all video television station in the country, with an impressive lineup of local and international content that Bahamian viewers tune in for.

And this is only the beginning; Our News and Our TV are making strides toward a major expansion of news, current affairs and local programming that will be a first for the nation.

Our News unveiled its new name and $1.5 million news studio in 2016, ushering in a new era of HD programming and content on Our TV.
