The reopening of another Grand Bahama hotel property is expected to further rejuvenate the island’s ailing tourism industry.
Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach began accepting bookings starting today, April 28.
The all inclusive resort, spread over 26 acres of beachfront property in Freeport, partnered with Baleària Caribbean to provide travelers with direct ferry service between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama on Thursdays and Sundays.
Speaking to the reopening of the property, Viva Wyndham’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Amanda Santana said, “Viva Wyndham is excited to finally welcome guests back to our Fortuna Beach resort, a beautiful destination that’s just minutes away from the US.
“As the only true all-inclusive resort on Grand Bahama, Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach is the premier choice for value-driven travelers who are looking to experience the best that the island has to offer.”
The property is reopening one month after the Grand Lucayan resort reopened in Freeport, ushering in more business on the island.
Viva Wyndam has implemented strict COVID-19 protocols along with its reopening, with on-site medical teams, COVID-19 testing and complimentary insurance for direct bookings.
“With these measures in place, the resort is able to offer a vast selection of land and water sports, such as sailing, paddleboarding, introductory diving lessons, kayaking, windsurfing, flying trapeze, tennis, archery, cycling, paintball and much more,” the hotel noted in a press release.
“There’s something for every age and interest, including cooking and cocktail classes, dance lessons, wellness classes, live nightly entertainment and a children’s club with a whole suite of activities for ages 3-12. As part of Viva Wyndham’s efforts to reopen the resort, the company fully encourages guests to fill out and complete the Bahamas travel health visa.”
