The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) congratulates a trio of junior players who recently experienced success in international tennis tournaments in Florida.
All three players – Michael Major Jr., BreAnn Ferguson and Cameron Ferguson – won their respective United States Tennis Association (USTA) junior level tournaments.
Major won the Midtown USTA Boys Under-16 (U16) Level 6 Tournament in Weston, Florida, knocking off American Rolando Torrellas in the semifinals and American Tyler Troche in the final.
Major won both matches in straight sets, prevailing 6-1 and 6-3 in the semifinals and 6-4 and 6-3 in the final.
BreAnn Ferguson was spectacular in her run through the USTA Girls Under-14 (U14) Level 7 Tournament in Orlando, Florida. She finished undefeated in the round robin segment of the tournament, then went on to cruise through the semifinals and final.
Cameron Ferguson did the same in the USTA Under-10 (U10) Boys Tournament in Orlando. He went undefeated on his road to victory.
The three junior players are anticipating continued progression this season.
