An accountant was arraigned on Wednesday for allegedly stealing from her employer.
Tabitha Wells, 39, is accused of stealing $198,112.35 between February 11, 2020 and August 19, 2020, while working as an accountant for John Watlings Distillery.
Wells allegedly tried to conceal the theft by falsifying entries in the Quickbooks accounting program. Prosecutors said those falsified records did not accurately reflect the cash received by the company. She is charged with stealing by reason of employment, falsification of accounts and acquisition of the proceeds of crime.
Wells entered not guilty pleas to all 15 counts at her arraignment before Magistrate Ambrose Armbrister.
Wells is due back in court on April 13, 2021 and was released on $9,900 bail.
