A man had to find a new home for Christmas.
Magistrate James Moxey ordered Austin Butler evicted from his godbrother’s home in Doris Johnson Estates on Christmas Eve.
Butler moved in with Ricardo Farrington last December after he fell on hard times.
Farrington required Butler to pay rent in kind of $200 monthly by contributing to groceries or maintaining the yard.
But Butler never lived up to the agreement—and became hostile when asked to leave.
According to Farrington’s statement of claim, Butler brought women to the home without his permission.
Farrington asked the court to have Butler vacate the premises immediately. He also sued Butler for $2,400 in damages, $400 in costs and the $60 service fee.
The court heard that Farrington had moved out of his own home, leaving Butler there with a female companion.
Moxey ordered Butler out of the home by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and awarded damages.
Butler returns to court in February to see if legal costs have been paid.
