A 27-year-old Bahamian man was arrested for questioning in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old woman, who was found dead at her home in Crown Haven, Abaco, on Saturday.
The mother-of-seven was found unresponsive in a western bedroom of the home around 12:15 p.m., Superintendent Robert Simmons, the officer in charge of the island, told The Nassau Guardian.
In a press release, authorities said the deceased had an altercation with a man earlier that day. The release also noted that the
victim had injuries to the face.
Well-placed sources said that she had been strangled.
Simmons said, “Acting on information received, we went into the community and 64 miles away, which would be Murphy Town, Abaco, we arrested the suspect who is assisting us in our investigations.”
The suspect lives in Murphy Town, according to Simmons.
Simmons said that the victim’s young children discovered their mother’s lifeless body and alerted an adult. That person called the police, he said.
