Vanessa’s faith walk

Award-winning gospel singer Vanessa Clarke will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the Dr. Bobby Jones Presents show on Impact TV as her music video, Faith Walk, makes its debut.

“I have loved his show from I was a little girl,” said Clarke, who lives in Grand Bahama. “I never had dreams of being a singer because I never thought I was that good, but God had other plans for me and made me a singer. Ever since I accepted the call, it was always my dream to be featured on his [Jones’] show. Over 30 years later, my dreams have come true,” she said.

Bobby Jones Presents is a one-hour television production that focuses on gospel music and gospel artists. Traditional, contemporary, praise and worship, rap, hip hop, quartet, choirs, groups, soloists, interviews, dance, drama are part of the general content of the show.

Clarke’s single “Faith Walk” speaks to the fact that she trusts the Lord with her life, her purpose, and trusts him with her walk more than two years after she has been diagnosed with a neurological disorder, which left her unable to walk.

“So, even though I’m not able to physically walk, I’m walking strong in the spirit because of my faith in God – because of the relationship that I have with him.”

In Clarke’s video, her concept included everyone wearing the color red, which she views as a strong symbolism of the blood of Jesus that she clings to as she lives with her medical challenges.

“Someone told me that many people thought I would never have made it this far, but it is the blood that gives me strength from day to day. That’s how I made it. When I was very low, could barely breathe, and didn’t know if I would wake up the next morning, I let his blood speak for me. It is because of the power of the blood of Jesus that my faith has been kept alive. My faith walk is tied to Calvary – tied to the cross, tied to the blood, tied to Jesus Christ. The blood will never lose its power, and my faith walk is built on this,” said Clarke.

The gospel singer said she will always sing God’s praises.

On New Year’s Day, Jesus in the City, a Christian organization out of Canada, released its music video production “The Blessing: Caribbean” with Clarke representing The Bahamas along with fellow musicians Tony Lowe and Nehemiah Hield.

Clarke expressed pride in making an impact in the Caribbean music project.

“The Bible says that praise will come from the islands and it has always been my desire to be a part of that movement – no matter how, God would get it done,” she said. “It tells us that our praise must go forth into the world and be launched from home – the islands. God inhabits the praise of his people and so we share the very essence of him in our praise and the way we worship.”

Clarke was also nominated for the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards in multiple categories including Producer of the Year and Song of the Year, for the song Going Through; she was also nominated in the 2021 Gospel Choice Music Awards in six categories including Best International Female Artist.
