Baha Mar plans to follow the government’s lead and will not require fully vaccinated visitors to take a rapid antigen test after check-in, stressing that they will be able to move freely throughout the resort as soon as they arrive.
The government announced recently that fully vaccinated visitors coming to The Bahamas will no longer be required to take an RT/PCR test as a prerequisite to entry.
Baha Mar added that unvaccinated guests will still be required to take a complimentary rapid antigen test and are still required to present a negative RT/PCR test in order to enter the country.
“Baha Mar, the leading resort destination in The Bahamas, applauds the announcement by the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation that visitors traveling to The Bahamas who are fully vaccinated and have passed the two-week immunity period will be exempted from COVID-19 testing requirements for entry and inter-island travel,” Baha Mar’s statement noted.
“In support of this announcement, fully vaccinated guests checking in to Baha Mar’s hotel brands – Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood Baha Mar – will not be required to take the rapid antigen test after check-in.”
Baha Mar President Graeme Davis said in the statement that he is confident that Baha Mar’s COVID-19 protocols ensure that it is one of the safest hotels in the region.
“We commend the decision by the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation of The Bahamas to adjust the initial testing requirements for vaccinated travelers and offer our full support behind this initiative,” said Davis.
“Through our testing protocols alongside our Travel with Confidence program, we are determined to provide the safest vacation experience possible in the Caribbean, as we work together to rebuild the travel and hospitality industry around the world.”
In February, Baha Mar introduced its Travel with Confidence program, which provides complimentary private jet service back to the US or a complimentary 14-day stay with a $150 per person dining credit for guests who test positive for COVID-19 during their stay.
Baha Mar’s statement explained that the resort still requires mask-wearing in public indoor areas and social distancing and is adhering to the strictest cleanliness protocols. The resort also continues weekly COVID-19 testing for its associates.
