Take Grammy Award-winner Rik Carey (with Baha Men for “Who Let the Dogs Out”), add Grammy Award nominee Christopher “Sketch” Carey (who co-produced Jah Cure’s Best Reggae Album “The Cure” with Lamar Brown and Trevor “Baby G” James), top it off with performances from Bodine Victoria, Judah Tha Lion, Jayme C., Sketch Carey, Shine and Patrice Murrell, along with appearances from Sammi Starr and CJ Priest, and you have yourself a Platinum Moments Live Watch Party.
Kalik Light Platinum brings together a mix of established artists and new upcoming artists for its Platinum Moments Live Watch Party this weekend, which is being billed as the ultimate live watch party that will offer something for everyone – from rake and scrape to R&B, soca and fusion, spanning 60 minutes of pure, original Bahamian music.
The Platinum Moments virtual concert takes place on Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. on Facebook Live on the Kalik page.
Mia Marshall, Commonwealth Brewery Limited (CBL) brand manager, says this is a virtual concert you should plan for as if it were a live event.
“Grab a few Kalik Light Platinum beers to set the mood, set aside the time to watch and prepare for a party,” said Marshall.
“The Platinum Moments Live Watch Party will be dynamic. There is truly something for everyone. The artists are really excited to put on a show.”
And she says they are delighted to be able to reunite Sketch, Sammi Starr and CJ Priest to perform their hit single “Pick Me”, which was a huge hit a few years back.
Marshall said Kalik decided to stage the concert not only as a source of entertainment for Bahamians at home during the COVID-19 global health pandemic, but also to highlight and support Bahamian talent that has continued to develop at home.
The event will also feature a giveaway element. They are encouraging people to share a picture of themselves or their friends enjoying Kalik on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #PlatinumMoments leading up to the Facebook Live event. Winners will be announced during the concert.
According to Marshall, Kalik has planned a number of activities to keep people entertained during the pandemic and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfews.
“We are finding ways to bring The Bahamas’ favorite moments to our consumers,” said Marshall.
