The tournament kicks off at 1 p.m. The tournament will take on the Best Ball stroke play and a progressive start.
It is the third tournament of the year for the BPGT after having one in March and May. For the third year of the Tour, Hillshire Farm has stepped up to the plate and sponsor one of the tournaments. Brand Manager of Hillshire Farm and Tyson, Jeff Saunders spoke about their support towards the Tour.
“We here at Asa H. Pritchard are once again more than happy to partake in this annual event. We have been sponsoring this golf tournament for the past three years. We know that last year was an exceptional year and we did not do it last year due to circumstances beyond our control with COVID-19. This year we are more than happy to partake again. We are looking forward to this event and we hope that everybody will come out and support it,” Saunders said.
Since 2018, BPGT has given golfers locally and internationally an opportunity to showcase their skills competitively. The local golfers have taken full advantage of the opportunity and have been getting better.
Founder of the BPGT, Riccardo Davis is upbeat about the future that is slated for later this year and in 2022.
“There are major developments in our international markets, and we will reveal those plans within the next few months. Several international partners and players have committed to support the tour during 2021 and 2022. We are truly excited to take the tour beyond our local borders,” Davis said.
Marcus Pratt won the last tournament in May at the Bahamas Waste Open. At the end of the three-round tournament, Pratt and the defending champion David Harris needed a playoff to determine the winner. They both finished the 54-hole Pratt, who played in all the BPGT tournaments shot a birdie on the playoff hole to win his first tournament. It was the first playoff in the Tour’s three-year history.
On the amateur side, Richard Gibson Jr. who scored 12 over-par was the winner in the 3-day event.
Harris won the first tournament for the year in March with a score of 10-over-par.
