128 new cases; three more deaths

The Ministry of Health reported three additional COVID-19 deaths in The Bahamas and 128 new cases of the virus.

A 51-year-old New Providence woman died on October 10 and two New Providence men, ages 62 and 77, died on October 20.

The COVID-19 death toll now stands at 127.

There are an additional 14 deaths under investigation.

Of the new cases confirmed on Tuesday, there were 104 on New Providence, 10 on Eleuthera, seven on the Berry Islands and five on Grand Bahama.

“It is noteworthy to mention that a data cleaning exercise was performed on the total confirmed cases by islands. It was discovered that some cases were from the island of New Providence and not from the Family Island previously indicated,” the ministry said.

This exercise resulted in a case being subtracted from Long Island, Bimini, Cat Island and Andros.

These four cases were added to the New Providence total, which stood at 4,645 up to yesterday.

There are 119 hospitalized cases.

So far, 3,633 cases have recovered.

One hundred and eight recoveries were reported on Tuesday.
