Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Senator Dr. Michael Darville said yesterday that he was discharged from hospital and is now recovering from COVID-19 at home.
Darville, along with PLP Leader Philip Brave Davis, tested positive for the virus last week.
“Many thanks to the medical staff for the excellent care delivered to me,” Darville said in a statement.
“I further thank the many well-wishers and persons of goodwill all across this country for their love, kind words of compassion, encouragement and prayers.”
On Tuesday, PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell said Davis was making progress. Davis was airlifted to the US last week, on the advice of his daughter, a doctor.
“I spoke to him myself by video link,” Mitchell said.
“He spoke from his private room. He looks well and spoke strongly. The doctors are pleased with his progress. No visitors are allowed per hospital policy during the pandemic, but the family and the doctors are pleased with the progress.”
Over 1,800 people have COVID-19 in The Bahamas and there are over 1,100 active cases.
