Two men accused of sex crimes against minors were denied bail yesterday.
Alutus Newbold, 50, is accused of kissing a teenager after he broke into his home in Orange Creek, Cat Island, around 10 p.m. on November 2, 2021.
Newbold did not have to enter a plea to the charges when he made his initial court appearance before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.
Appearing in the same court was Chanton Butler, 20, who is accused of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
Prosecutors allege that Butler, a resident of Sir Lynden PIndling Estates in New Providence, forced the minor to perform a sex act on him on November 2.
Neither man had to enter a plea to the charges. They are both expected to return to court on December 16 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
