RF Bank and Trust sponsors national golf championships again

Local amateur golfers are set to participate in the RF National Amateur Golf Championships during this Father’s Day weekend.

The annual competition, which is proudly sponsored by RF Bank and Trust, commences on Thursday and will end on Sunday. It is organized by the Bahamas Golf Federation (BGF) and is open to all golfers.

The championships will be held at three venues – the Albany Golf Course at Albany, The Bahamas; the Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island; and the Royal Blue Golf Course at Baha Mar.

The championships will feature several divisions and tee boxes. As in previous years, the President’s Cup will be held during the final two days at Ocean Club and Royal Blue. The best male and female golfers emerging from the overall competition will go on to compete in the 65th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships later this year.

Investment Banking Vice President at RF Bank and Trust Jim Wilson said he anticipates an exciting competition given the wealth of talent at previous events.

“This is the third year that RF has been the title sponsor of the national amateur golf championships,” he said. “The Bahamas Golf Federation has been integral in the development of the sport in the country, evidenced in the young golfers who will participate in this weekend’s competition, as young as 15. We are happy to partner with the Bahamas Golf Federation in creating opportunities for local athletes.”

Prizes will be awarded by division, and a minimum of five players is required to complete a division.
