Men in court in relation to various charges

A suspect in a recent armed robbery has been denied bail.

Prosecutors claim that Miguel Francis, 28, of Market Street north, is responsible for the August 4 hold-up at Polhemus Drugs.

Francis allegedly made off with an undetermined amount of cash during the hold-up.

He did not have to enter a plea to the armed robbery charge when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on Tuesday.

He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections since the magistrate has no authority to consider bail for the charge.

Francis can, however, apply for bail in the Supreme Court.

Prosecutors intend to fast-track his case to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment on October 15.

Also appearing in the same court were two teenagers accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Prosecutors say that Mantez Rolle, 18, of Taylor Street, and a 17-year-old, while being concerned together, had a firearm with the intention of endangering the life of Renardia Baillou on August 20.

They were not required to enter pleas and were remanded to prison until October.

Tamara Taylor-Storr appeared for the juvenile.

Theodis Kemp is accused of two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He allegedly endangered the lives of Christopher Rolle and Gardenia Butler on July 20.

He’s also accused of possession of a 9mm pistol and five rounds of ammunition on the same date.

Kemp didn’t have to enter pleas to those charges, and was remanded to prison until October 14.

Dominique Deleveaux was accused of assaulting Tony Louidor with his Nissan Maxima before he assaulted him with a gun.

He was also denied bail and returns to court in October.
