The Free National Movement (FNM) will spend just under $100,000 to hold its convention on November 27, party treasurer Dwight Sawyer said yesterday.
“This will include airfare travel for delegates coming from the Family Islands, room and board, and ground transportation,” he said.
FNM Chairman Carl Culmer confirmed that three people will run for party leader, Marco City MP Michael Pintard, East Grand Bahama MP Kwasi Thompson and Central Grand Bahama MP Iram Lewis.
Nominations for leader ended yesterday.
The party will hold a three-day convention next February where all other positions will be contested.
It is too early to say how much that convention will cost, FNM Deputy Leader Peter Turnquest said.
Under former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis, the FNM suffered a brutal defeat during the September 16 general election. The party won seven of the 39 seats. Pintard, Lewis and Thompson have pledged to unify the party and learn from its recent loss.
