Man charged with fraudulently obtaining Bahamian passports, voter’s cards, birth certificate and driver’s license

Authorities are uncertain about the identity of a man who was issued two Bahamian passports and other forms of official identification.

The man charged as John Doe allegedly obtained two Bahamian e-passports – one as Tian Russell and the other as Tian Benduras.

But that’s not all. The man was also issued two voter’s cards and a Bahamian driver’s license.

Prosecutors allege that he obtained the documents through fraud by false pretenses, by using a forged Bahamian birth certificate.

The man denied charges of possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document, fraud by false pretenses and possession of false documents at his arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes on Friday.

Forbes denied him bail and set trial for March 18, 2021.

The man was represented by Domek Rolle and Sergeant Kenny Thompson prosecuted.
