Abaco man who was allegedly caught with loaded gun remanded

An Abaco man was remanded to prison after he was allegedly caught with a loaded gun in his waist.

Sherman Kemp pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition at his arraignment before Magistrate Ancella Evans yesterday.

Evans adjourned the matter to March 17, 2021 for trial.

Kemp will remain in custody until his trial begins, unless a Supreme Court judge grants him bail.

Police arrested Kemp near the dock in Hope Town, Abaco on December 5 shortly after he got off a boat.

Officers on patrol allegedly found a silver and black 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition in the waist of Kemp’s pants.
