Man who was charged with possession of housebreaking tool fined

Police arrested a man for possession of housebreaking implements after a woman reported that a stranger was lurking on her property.

The officers met Antonio Tynes walking on the woman’s street after midnight on January 7, the prosecutor said.

When they searched him, they found a screwdriver in his pocket.

Tynes, of Major Road, Yellow Elder, pleaded guilty to possession of housebreaking implements and breaking the national curfew designed to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Tynes told Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes that the woman who lived at the home owed him money for work he had done.

He alleged that she had told him to stop by for his money whenever he saw her car.

Forbes ordered Tynes to pay fines totaling $750 to avoid spending two months in prison.
