An activist and his niece are accused of damaging businessman Hiram Kelly’s glasses at his restaurant last year.
Prosecutors allege that Lincoln Bain, 44, of Pinewood Gardens, and Tiara McCartney, 19, of Cox Way, caused $644 in damage to Kelly’s eyeglasses at the Deep South Restaurant on November 26, 2020.
The pair denied the charges at their arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
He set bail at $500 each and set a trial date of June 14.
Kelly faces criminal charges stemming from the same incident at his restaurant on East Street South.
He is accused of indecently assaulting a woman by touching her thigh and assaulting Bain.
Kelly is free on $2,500 bail and his trial is scheduled to begin on March 29.
