A man and woman were murdered on Friday night in separate incidents, police said.
In the first incident, police received a call at 9:35 p.m. about a shooting on East Street.
When police responded, they met a large crowd of people near a business and were taken to the body of a man who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police said they learned that a group of people were standing outside the business when a white car drove up to them. Two armed men exited the car and began shooting into the crowd, hitting a man. The victim died at the scene.
In the second incident, police received a call shortly before 10 a.m. of a domestic dispute at a home on Shabbach Close, west of Bellot Road. When officers responded, they found the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood in a bathroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another woman, who was at the home, was taken to hospital and treated for injuries before police arrived.
Police were questioning a man in connection with the matter.
