CBC enters alcoholic beverages market

Caribbean Bottling Company Bahamas Ltd. (CBC) is expanding its portfolio by entering the wines, spirits and beers market for the first time, with the launch of Caribbean Wines & Spirits (CWS).

CBC revealed in a press release that it decided to evolve to “meet the needs and taste preferences of Bahamians around the country”.

According to the release, Christopher Duncombe will head the Caribbean Wines & Spirits team as its manager.

This new company under CBC’s umbrella means that for the first time, products from the House of Angostura will be widely available in The Bahamas. The Angostura brand is widely liked and favored throughout the Caribbean diaspora.

“We are excited to be featuring the extensive Kobrand wine catalogue, as well as the House of Angostura and Landshark beers,” said Duncombe.

‘“This will also be the first time that many of the premium wines and spirits that we will be offering will be available in The Bahamas. We are eager to showcase some unique and diverse selections from around the world.”

CBC’s Brand Manager Karla Wells-Lisgaris said this is the first time that Caribbean Bottling Company has entered into the alcoholic beverages market.

“CWS is something new and exciting for us. We have always been committed to keeping up with the taste preferences of Bahamians and we wanted to provide wine and rum aficionados around the country with new additions that they may not have experienced before,” said Wells-Lisgaris.

CBC is widely known for its distribution of Coca-Cola products, Dasani water and Powerade, among other large, international drink brands.

“The company is enthusiastic to provide the same level of quality, consistency and innovation, with the launch of Caribbean Wines & Spirits, that it’s parent company is known for,” the release stated.
