A 73-year-old woman on Monday denied smuggling 12 pounds of cocaine into the country in her luggage.
Police arrested Esperanza Bonet Roig, 73, of Spain, after she arrived at Lynden Pindling International Airport on a flight that originated in Panama on March 7.
The officers allegedly found the cocaine in Roig’s duffel bag.
Roig denied charges of drug possession with intent to supply and drug importation at her arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
A trial into the accusations is set to begin on May 11.
