Three men appeared in court on Tuesday accused of sexual offenses.
Prosecutors allege that Alton Whitney, 24, of Tellie Court, Hollywood Subdivision, raped a woman on April 24, 2019.
He was not required to enter a plea to the charge before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux and was denied bail.
However, his lawyer Terrell Butler intends to seek bail in the Supreme Court.
He returns to court on November 27 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.
Haitian national Canes Vilus appeared in the same court charged with unlawful sexual intercourse. Vilus allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl from October 2019 to March 2020.
He was denied bail and returns to court in November.
Meanwhile, Latario Clarke, 34, of Jumbay Drive, appeared before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis charged with procuration.
Prosecutors say Clarke procured a 13-year-old from July 11 to 14 with the intent of having unlawful sexual intercourse.
Rolle-Davis set bail at $5,000 with one or two sureties.
Clarke’s case will be sent to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment on October 21.
