A murder suspect on Wednesday admitted to failing to comply with his bail conditions.
Perez Major, of Driggs Hill, Andros, was required to report to the Kemp’s Bay Police Station as part of his bail conditions imposed by the Supreme Court.
However, Major ignored this requirement since January 2020.
Major pleaded guilty to violating his bail conditions at his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
Major, who did not have a lawyer, told the magistrate that he did not have a ride to get to the station since his brother left Andros.
The magistrate could have imposed a fine or prison sentence for the breach. Instead, Rolle-Davis warned Major and told him he would refer the matter to the Supreme Court for a bail revocation hearing.
Additionally, the court remanded Major to prison on a charge of threats of grievous harm.
Major denied claims that he threatened Andy Carey with grievous bodily harm on June 2.
Rolle-Davis told Major that he didn’t have the authority to consider bail for the offense and remanded him to prison until his trial on September 9.
